Manon's Message:

Calling all nature lovers! Our newest area of Rotary focus and District committee -- Environmental Awareness -- is looking for volunteer committee members. If you have ideas for environmental programs, special skills you can share, or even just a love of our planet, please contact Manon Lyketsos at Together, we can make a plan, and most of all, make a difference!

Pioneers for Polio Campaign - Final Days
Our October campaign to raise funds for PolioPlus - Pioneers for Polio - is reaching its final days.
Thanks to the many Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Clubs who have already given. We are on the verge of reaching and surpassing our goal of $30,000 raised this month. At last check, we are just over $26,000, and we know some clubs are committed to add to that total.
Please consider a gift of any size to let the world know that the Birthplace of Rotary is supportive of the effort to eliminate Polio from the world.

Disaster Relief
Disaster Response Committee
The District has formed a Disaster Response Committee, headed by Chris Olson of the Rotary Club of Aurora Sunrise.
The Committee will help establish District policy on responding to requests for assistance, whether monetary, for supplies, or for hands-on help. They will also help prepare us to respond to disasters within our District.
Chris welcomes Rotarians and Rotaractors with an interest in this area to join the Committee so we are ready when disaster strikes, either close to home or further away.
For more information, contact Chris:

New Rotary Clubs in Formation

Our New Club Committee chair, Mera Johnson (Rotary Club of Montgomery), is busily working with three potential new Rotary Clubs within our District:

A Veterans Club
A LatinX Club centered around Aurora, Illinois
A hands-on volunteering Club
Mera invites anyone with an interest in helping to form these new Clubs to contact her. She would love whatever ideas, assistance, or resources you could provide as we continue to find new ways to bring more people into Rotary. Please provide her with suggestions of anyone you think would have an interest in joining any of these Clubs.
Mera can be reached via email:

A total of 37 Early Childhood Education projects have been approved and funded in District 6450. That is $18,500 being used to enhance early childhood development all throughout our District! Thanks to all of the Rotarians and Rotaractors involved in these projects. We cannot wait to see more pictures of the great work you are doing!
