Dear District 6450 Rotarians.
It is time to begin the process of selection for our District Governor for the 2024-2025 Rotary year.
Information on the expectations and responsibilities of this role can be found on the District website under “Governance - Governor Nominating Committee.” Much information and all necessary documents are located there.
Here is a direct link to that page: Governor Nominating Committee
Perhaps you have considered applying for the position. You may nominate yourself (with your Club's endorsement). Perhaps someone in your Club is ready to serve as Governor. Your Club may invite that person to step forward. Perhaps you know of someone that is perfect and positioned to lead our District. You may nominate that person.
A District Governor candidate should be a good leader, someone who inspires participation and meets the standards set by the Four-Way-Test. Strong organizational skills, adaptability, creativity and pride in the endeavor will serve a candidate well. Someone who is open-minded, able to delegate, is not afraid to fail, and who embraces diversity would be well-suited to apply.
By the time a candidate takes office (July 1, 2024), he or she must have served as a Club President, have been a Rotarian for at least seven years, and of course must be a member in good standing of a functioning Club in the District.
It is necessary to complete the Governor-Nominee form and have it endorsed by the candidate's home Club and signed by their Club secretary. It should be submitted, confidentially, along with support documentation as requested to PDG Chuck Corrigan, Chair of the District Governor Nominating Committee. Chuck's contact information is below. Email and regular mail are both accepted.
All applications must be received by the Committee before 5:00 PM on Friday, November 5, 2021.
Candidate interviews will take place Saturday morning, November 20, 2021. Time and place to be determined.
Leading our District, the Birthplace of Rotary, is a tremendous honor and privilege, and an incredible experience in Rotary. If you qualify and have an interest, please consider applying.
Any questions about the nominating process should be directed to PDG Chuck Corrigan.
Yours in service,
Rotary International District 6450
