Does your club have a three year plan?
Call for a visioning session with your club

Visioning is a foundation element for clubs, bringing members together toward:

  1. CONTINUITY OF LEADERSHIP, VISION AND PROCESS
  2. CONSISTENCY IN PROGRAMMING
  3. CONSENSUS TOWARD SOLIDARITY AND UNANIMITY IN PURPOSE AND ACTION

This program was created and designed by Rotarians and provided to Rotarians for the purpose of forming a vision or focus for the growth of your club in many ways. It gives you the tools for using your imagination to dream about just what your club could become! The facilitation session is intended for all interested Rotarians in your club from your newest members to your most tenured.

Typically, a visioning session will include anywhere from no less than 12 for smaller clubs but no more than 25 (to maintain the time schedule and allow fair and full input from all present). Everyone that attends will have the opportunity to participate. This is a 4-hour session (typically 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.) and all participants are asked to commit to the entire 4-hour exercise.

Your District 6450 Facilitation Team will be holding these sessions on the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings and the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings of each month.

Each club requesting a Vision Facilitation will designate a “Club Coordinator” who will work with the District Project Coordinator providing all the information and direction individual Rotarians will need in preparation for the session.

During the process, your club will establish written goals and benchmarks, which tend to increase accountability. There will be a stronger camaraderie amongst the club members. These goals that you will set provide a sort of road map to follow.

The visioning process also has an underlying current of training that is highly specific and customized to Rotary. It incorporates a teaching component from the district level to help clubs champion 3 fairly new concepts:

  1. The Club Leadership Plan as developed and promoted by RI
  2. The idea of a strategic-based club leadership committee
  3. he need for a club to communicate their vision and initiatives in a formalized way.

There are at least 3 measures of success for club’s that complete a Vision Facilitation:

  1. All immediate measure of progress will be the members’ pledge and willingness to move the planning processes from a nice-to-do concept to meaningful growth programs for the club, its members, and its community.
  2. The second is that the output from this session is woven into the annual plans of the incoming and succeeding Presidents. It will be reflected in the continuity and consistency of programming and leadership in your Club.
  3. Finally, the long-term mark of accomplishment will be at the end of five years when your club advances from where it is to where it wants to be.

The facilitators role is to remain neutral with any and all of your ideas, dreams, plans. Each Rotary club is unique. We each know our communities and members. During the Visioning session, you will be the ones creating and brainstorming. You will think from the end and see in your mind’s eye just where your club is in 5 years.
